A belief of mine that was confirmed in the article is that internet has been seen just as a tool, where you can search information only, and not as a source for the development of a skill. Teachers’ work is to blend internet in their courses, but a limitation always comes up. What if we do not have total access to internet? How can we apply it in our syllabus if our students cannot reach the goal? Reading this article helps me to realize that despite of the limitations, teachers can be creative and safe the required information and/or links to use it in the classroom. It is true that the availability of internet must be the key for a successful planning; however, there are plenty of websites which will enhance students’ learning process, and in most of them, an account it is not required.

What really surprised me about the article is that some authors considered the idea that having full access internet in a class will not be productive. I totally disagree with this assumption, as a teachers, we need to use authentic or semi-authentic materials; therefore, internet helps us to extent our activities. Internet need to be used as a framework, because it will support what a teacher explains and teach and internet will be their classroom and teacher at the same time, when students are practicing grammar exercises on-line. Finally, I do not consider properly mention that no one has access to internet, but everybody has a cellphone!! Nowadays, even in your mobile you have access to internet, so there are no excuses to learn and search for websites to improve yourself.

  1. i agree with Karla Diaz, i trust on internet as a support for our clases, i like the view that internet needs to be consider as a framework and i got the idea because student will have access to information at any time or as they desire. First, the consideration that a student can have access to a wrong website but that where the teacher will take an action selecting carefully the websites on the internet. Second, internet is a great tool in which student could improve their skill inside and outside the class room. i can always say that call put an awareness of need to use internet as a teacher´s tool and blended clases proof the successful it can be. i know it will requiere time and a lot work preparation but the benefits of internet into ELT will be in a positive way. however i understand that must of us, we have access to a cell that could let you surfing on the internet but no all of us have access to internet at any where! so i consider that could be great if the school in general install wifi connection to have access to internet to practices more? what do you think ?
